School spokeswoman Sally Ramey said the victim was shot on the roof of the campus parking deck Thursday and was taken to the Gwinnett Medical Center. Details on the person's identity and medical condition weren't immediately available.
Ramey said campus police determined the shooting was an isolated incident and the weapon was recovered at the scene. Ramey said an alert was sent throughout the campus community and that a lockdown wasn't necessary.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is helping to probe the shooting and information on the circumstances that led to the gunfire weren't immediately available.
