John Marshall, a deputy with the Sheriff's Office, said in a press release that EMS units and Animal Control Officers responded to the scene on Bogus Road off Nopone Road around 4 p.m.
Marshall also said the child was transported to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Hall County Animal Services Director Mike Ledford confirmed the child had been bitten in the face and that the dog belonged to a relative of the child. The animal is currently impounded.
