GAINESVILLE - Nobody was hurt when a leak was discovered Thursday morning in an ammonia line at the Cargill plant on West Ridge Road in Gainesville.

An alarm sounded just before 8:30 a.m. and employees left the facility.

The ammonia leak was restricted to a mechanical room, according to Gainesville Fire Division Chief Keith Smith. He said employees were allowed to returned to work within an hour.
