ATHENS, Ga. (AP) A man accused along with former University of Georgia football coach Jim Donnan of operating a fraudulent investment scheme is set to testify in Donnan's trial.

Prosecutors told a federal judge in Athens that they plan to call Gregory Crabtree to testify Thursday.

A federal indictment unsealed last year charged Donnan, of Athens, and Crabtree of Proctorville, Ohio, with conspiracy, mail fraud and wire fraud. Prosecutors have said the pair ran the scheme through GLC Limited, Inc., a West Virginia-based company that dealt in closeout merchandise.

Crabtree pleaded guilty last month to a single charge of conspiracy.

Prosecutors have said Crabtree ran the day-to-day operations of the business, while Donnan used his considerable influence with a large network of social and professional contacts to lure investors.
