USA Canoe/Kayak names six Lanier Canoe/Kayak Club athletes to Team USA

Four local athletes have been named to the 2014 sprint canoe/kayak World Cup Team after National Team Trials were held in Oklahoma City.

2012 Olympian Tim Hornsby, Chris Miller, Stanton Collins, and Ian Ross will compete in World Cup 2 in Racice, Czech Republic and World Cup 3 in Szeged, Hungary.

Hornsby finished first in the 200 meter Kayak Men's event, Chris Miller and Stanton Collins finished 1st in the 1000m Kayak Men's K2 event and Ian Ross finished first in the 1000m canoe men's event.

Athletes named to the Under-23 World Championships Team to be contested in Szeged, Hungary, later this summer included Ben Hefner, Ian Ross, Chris Miller and Stanton Collins.

Hefner finished first in the U-23 division in the 200m Canoe Men's event. Farran Smith, the LCKC's youngest paddler to compete at Trials secured a spot on the Junior Worlds Championships Team to compete in Szeged, Hungary, later this summer.
