A statement from the Sheriff's Office said the threat originated from a phrase written on a bathroom wall in the school. The phrase did not use the word "bomb," but did make an insinuation which could be considered a threat. Authorities said they suspect the phrase was written by a student.
Sheriff's Lt. Matt Guthas said the students and staff were evacuated from the high school while law enforcement and bomb sniffing dogs searched the school property and vehicles at the high school.
No explosives were found.
On Wednesday, a written bomb threat was discovered on a bathroom stall at East Jackson Comprehensive High School near Commerce, and Thursday a written threat was discovered at Jefferson Middle School.
