Gainesville's First Friday events begin tonight

GAINESVILLE - Main Street Gainesville's First Friday series gets underway the evening of May 2.

The series kicks off with the Dave Boyd Band featuring Blues, Rock and Soul, according to Main Street Manager Regina Mansfield.

Each event takes place on the downtown Gainesville Square and runs from 5 to 10 p.m.

Mansfield said several stores will be open later and participating restaurants will offer wristbands for customers who want to carry drinks and dinner with them.

"We're looking forward to people coming downtown and enjoying the square
after hours," Mansfield said.
