STATESBORO -- Authorities say the second of two assistant high school sports coaches has been arrested on sexual assault and child exploitation charges.

Statesboro police say 26-year-old Luke Edward Parks of Jesup surrendered to authorities Wednesday. Police say Parks, an assistant football coach at Statesboro High School, is accused of having a questionable relationship with a student at the eastern Georgia school.

The school's assistant girls' soccer coach, Jeffrey Crowder, was also arrested on a sexual assault charge Wednesday. Police say both men are accused of having inappropriate relationships with 16-year-old girls.

Bulloch County Schools Superintendent Charles Wilson has said both men passed extensive background checks before working for the district.

It's unclear if Parks has an attorney.
