Fla. developer planning $280M residential community in Forsyth Co.

CUMMING - A Florida-based real estate developer is planning a $280 million residential community in Forsyth County.

According to information on file with the state Department of Community Affairs, Mountain Crest would be the name of the development which is planned on both sides of Chamblee Gap Road near Bethelview Road. It would consist of 696 units, 572 of them single-family homes and the other 124 townhomes to be completed in phases through 2022.

Plans also call for a trail system connecting to Forsyth County's Big Creek Greenway Trail.

Lennar Georgia, Inc., is the developer. Its parent company is Lennar Corporation, which, according to the company Website, is based in Miami, was formed in 1954 and has residential developments in 18 states. It already has 16 planned or completed developments in Georgia, including five in Forsyth County.
