CUMMING - Site preparation continues for the Mason Street Parking Facility being built near the Forsyth County Administration Building in downtown Cumming.

The site preparation will require that the construction fence that was erected in late March be extended on Thursday.

This will result in the loss of two rows of public parking behind the County Administration Building. To offset the loss of these spaces, two rows of parking off of Mason Street that are currently designated as parking for county employees will become available for public parking Thursday.

These parking spaces, along with one-hour public parking spaces also located off of Mason Street, are accessible from Main Street.

Weekday, daytime public parking spaces are also available at several locations near the County Administration Building (please see map at www.forsythco.com). Look for the parking spaces marked with a red dot in designated lots.

The extension of the construction fence also necessitated the relocation of the Forsyth County Water and Sewer Department's payment drop-box. The drop-box is now located off of School Street behind the County Administration Building.

The five-level, 491-space Mason Street Parking Facility and the three-level, 222-space Castleberry Parking Facility, which is currently under construction, are part of the new courthouse and jail project.
