Gainesville Braves U-10 team rises to No. 1 state ranking

With an 8-0 record in USSSA tournament play, the Gainesville Braves AA 10-and-under baseball team has risen to the No. 1 ranking in Georgia and 20th in the nation. The team is averaging 10 runs per game, while allowing just 2.9 runs per game.

The team's most recent tournament win was in the April 26 "Champs Wear the Rings NIT" tournament in Dallas (Ga.), winning 7-1 in the championship, where they captured their second consecutive USSSA tournament championship.

They also compete in regular season play in Lanier League baseball and are currently No. 1 in their division with an 11-0 record.

Team members include Harrison Cooper, Jace Bowen, Colby Harrison, Chandler Mayfield, Caleb Tanner, Walker Tipton, Logan Bogue, Tripp Williams, Jayvion Sims, Ethan Payne and Stephen Sartain.

Team coaches are Jason Bowen, Shane Harrison, Jeff Tanner, Josh Tipton and Mike Mayfield.
