Sgt. Carissa McFaddin said Friday night officers are gathering surveillance video from Starbucks and other nearby businesses in an attempt to discover who might be responsible for the package.
The business was evacuated about 11:15 a.m. Thursday after a suspicious package was discovered and reported to employees.
"Deputies did locate an object in the parking lot that appeared to contain materials that are consistent with an improvised explosive device," McFaddin said.
A bomb technician from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team responded and determined the package was non-explosive.
McFaddin said a secondary security sweep was conducted around the business to ensure that no further threat was present, then the business reopened about 1:45 p.m.
The contents of the package were taken as evidence by Banks County investigators to be further examined, McFaddin said.
