The club provides opportunities such as the BBI Youth racing league in the spring and fall, summer day camps, developmental and high performance team training. These new boats will be in service for many years to come and give young people in our area an opportunity for a start at their Olympic dreams in flat water sprint canoe/kayaking.
The purchase of these boats was the direct result of a successful capital campaign. Mr. House commented "Our goal was to try to raise $30,000 and I am so proud to announce that due to outpouring support of our local community, we raised over $40,000!."
The Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club has been challenged over many years with an aging fleet of boats that is used to carry out many of the club's programs.
