GAINESVILLE - A tractor trailer carrying 60,000 pounds of frozen chicken overturned on Aviation Boulevard during rush hour traffic Friday morning.

Trooper Jordan Stamey with the Georgia State Patrol said the driver of the rig told investigators that the load shifted as he tried to make a right turn onto Highway 60/Queen City Parkway from Aviation Boulevard.

Stamey said the driver was an independent operator from Hawkinsville, Ga.

Stamey said the driver complained of shoulder and back pain and was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

The accident happened just after 7 a.m., and Stamey said it was around noon before Highway 60 was fully re-opened to traffic.
