GAINESVILLE -- Gainesville baseball will play its final regular season game as region champions.

The Red Elephants' 13-1 win over Cedar Shoals, combined with Loganville's 10-9 loss to Salem on Wednesday, sealed Gainesville's second straight 8-AAAAA crown.

The Red Elephants (19-6, 13-2 Region 8-AAAAA) handled their side of things with ease, as Caleb Whitenton and Harrison Styles combined to no-hit the Jaguars at Ivey-Watson Field.

Whitenton also starred at the plate, drilling a two-run home run.

Michael Gettys also supplied an RBI double, while Sam Carpenter scored two runs.

Gainesville will travel to Athens on Thursday for its final regular season contest, taking on Cedar Shoals.
