Ben Corley to be nominated for Chestatee High AD

GAINESVILLE - A candidate has been found to fill the vacated Assistant Principal/Athletic Director position at Chestatee High School.

CHS Principal Suzanne Jarrard said Tuesday that she will recommend Ben Corley to the Hall County Board of Education to fill the vacancy created by the recent resignation of Stan Williams. Williams resigned for personal reasons.

Corley is a 1991 graduate of North Hall High School, holds current state certification in several areas, including education leadership, health/physical education, and science.

Corley's teaching and coaching career spans nineteen years involving multiple experiences in leading high school sports programs, which includes:

~ serving as head coach in football (2 years at Winder-Barrow)

~ head coach in basketball (4 years Girls at Winder-Barrow; 3 years Boys at Union County)

~ head coach in golf (1 year at Winder-Barrow).

~ assistant AD (2 years at Clarke-Central).

Most recently he has been working at West Hall High School as a science teacher, assistant football coach and assistant track coach.

Jarrard said regarding her nomination, "I am excited that Ben will be joining our War Eagle family. He brings with him the total package. His vast athletic experiences including being a head coach of multiple sports along with his academic knowledge as a science teacher are the perfect combination to help move Chestatee forward."

Ben and his wife, Leigh, have two children: son Ethan is 11, and daughter Bowen is 9.
