DAWSONVILLE -- The Dawson County baseball team kept its playoff hopes alive courtesy a 5-3 win over North Hall on Wednesday in Dawsonville.

Logan Burt proved imposing on the mound for the Tigers (13-8, 8-8 Region 7-AAA), striking out 13 Trojans batters to help Dawson County clinch its third straight victory -- each coming against teams higher in the 7-AAA standings (Buford and West Hall included).

Luke Martin also proved crucial for the Tigers, going 3 for 3 at the plate, while Levi Whitmire, Brody Chester and Colton Chester each produced two hits apiece.

North Hall's Brock Wingo also went 2 for 3, while Andrew Smith, McCoy Savage, Lincoln Hewett and Taber Mongero each produced a hit, but it wasn't enough for the Trojans (15-7, 13-4).

North Hall will travel to take on Buford on Friday.

Dawson County, meanwhile, will look to keep its hot streak going in a vital game against White County at 5:55 p.m. Thursday in Cleveland.
