GAINESVILLE - William F. Morris has been selected to participate in The Harvard Summit for Young Leaders in China (HSYLC).

One of 25 Harvard undergraduates accepted to participate, Morris will spend ten days with HSYLC in Shanghai after completing a nine-week language immersion program in Beijing with The Harvard-Beijing Academy.

Through HSYLC, he will develop curriculum and teach a seminar on the regional/cultural differences across the U.S. HSYLC 2014 will serve as "an intense forum for cultural and intellectual exchange" and as an opportunity to cultivate leadership skills in talented Chinese high school students, according to its organizers.

A 2013 graduate of Gainesville High School, Morris studied Chinese language and culture under the direction of Julia Zhu throughout his high school career.
