Soccer: Steele leads Lady Knights past Madison Co.

OAKWOOD -- Chandler Steele scored a goal and had one assist to lead the Johnson girls to a 2-1 win over Madison County Tuesday in Region 8-AAAA action.

Steele assisted on a header goal by Sandra Macedo less than seven minutes into the game.

The score stayed that way until late in the second half. Steele made it 2-0 with just over seven minutes left in the game on a free kick shot that deflected into the goal off a Madison county defender.

The Lady Red Raiders scored its lone goal with just over a minute left but could not get the equalizer.

The Lady Knights next will play host to rival Gainesville on Friday.
