SENOIA - Clifton 'Hog Head' Moran held off a hard charging Roger Arnett by about a foot to score an exciting victory in the Newnan Bonding B Cadet feature Saturday night at Senoia Raceway in Senoia, GA.

Moran and Arnett battled side by side for 14 of the 20 laps that made up the feature. Moran ran the high side nearly the entire race with Arnett holding the inside line. The only thing slowing down the race for first place was a number of caution flags. But each time after the restart, the drivers would return to the side by side racing that had the fans standing and cheering.

On the final lap, Moran slid up the track in turn four allowing Arnett to jump up on his inside left quarter panel. The drag race to the finish line saw Moran hold Arnett off by the slimmest of margins for the win.

The story was similar in the Summit Racing Equipment Hobby Stock division, although not for the lead position. Williamson's Houston 'Hoot Daddy' Hatchett moved out front of the field at the drop of the green while all the side by side, bumping and racing was left to decide who would finish in what position behind Hatchett.

Whitesburg's William Blair had to start scratch on the field after arriving late and missing the qualifying heat races. Blair worked the high side of the track to near perfection as he climbed to the number three position before tangling with Forsyth's 'Wild' Bill Brown. The skirmish would relegate him to the back of the pack for a second time.

Brook's Mike Jenkins was also near the back of the pack after being involved in a couple of spins, a trip to the pits and some unfortunate tangles. Jenkins and Blair both entertained the fans with a charge to the front of the field.

Jenkins' charge ended on lap 16 when he spun in turn two. It was the third and final caution he was allowed as Senoia Raceway officials enforced their three spin rule. Blair's night would end only a couple laps later when his engine blew with the white flag waving.

Hatchett calmly claimed his second straight feature win with Brown coming home second, Brook's Kerry Carden third and rookie Ben Wells of Milner fourth.

In the Senoia Drug Company Mini Stock feature, rookie contender Harold Leath led the pack at the drop of the green. Brandon Bright of Newnan quickly challenged Leath for the lead while fellow Newnan competitor Bobby 'Wild Child' Arnold came along to snare third. The three drivers looked at going three wide on lap four, but Arnold patiently held back. Bright and Leath went hard into the third turn touching a bit through the corner. It was enough for Arnold to slide under and take the lead. It was a lead he would never relinquish successfully beginning his championship title defense in the division. Harold Leath would come home second ahead of his brother and teammate Marc Leath of Hampton. Brandon Bright finished fourth ahead of Barnesville's Gary Parker.

McDonough's Dwight Pilgram won the Legends cars return to Senoia. The motorcycle powered race cars had not competed at Senoia Raceway since the track returned to dirt five years ago. Six cars competed with lots of passing, changing of position and good racing. Sixteen-year-old Megan Younginer of Locust Grove finished second ahead of Convington's Tony Armbruster.

Senoia's Dustin Smith picked up his second victory of the year in the A1 Hydraulics Bomber division while another Dustin Smith, this one of Carrollton, won the main event for the Modified Minis. LaGrange's Tod Darda led every lap of the Jodeco Auto Sales Late Model feature besting fellow LaGrange driver Dusty Jones and Newnan's Parrish Duncan.

Senoia Raceway is back in action on Saturday, April 19, with the Jodeco Auto Sales Late Models, Newnan Bonding B Cadets, Summit Racing Equipment Hobby Stocks, Senoia Drug Company Mini Stocks, A-1 Hydraulics Bombers and Modified Mini all slated to compete.
