Travis Naraine led the way with a perfect 4-4 evening from the plate as the Nighthawks improve to 16-20 on the season.
TMC threatened in the first inning loading the bases with just one out courtesy of a pair of hits and a fielding miscue, but UNG starter Josh Wolfe escaped with no damage.
North Georgia (16-20) struck first in the bottom half of the first frame when an RBI double over the centerfielder's head by Eason Spivey scored Travis Naraine from first base. Naraine reached with a single to left extending his streak of games reaching safely to 30.
The Bears put a pair of runners in scoring position with one away in the second following a single and a throwing error, but Wolf induced a strikeout and ground out to keep the score sheet clean.
Truett-McConnell (10-29) finally broke through in the top of the fourth for two runs when UNG reliever Josh Bryan issued a pair of free passes, with the second coming with the bases loaded, before Cam Pearson singled home Dylan Reichenberg giving the Bears a 2-1 lead.
The deficit would be temporary as a sacrifice fly by Cameron Crawford plated Joey Cecere in the Nighthawks' fourth to even the score at two apiece. Cecere reached with a one-out triple marking the junior's first three-base hit of the season.
In the top of the fifth, TMC loaded the bases with only one away but North Georgia was able to escape with no damage upping the Bears' stranded total to 12 through five innings.
The Nighthawks blew the game open with seven runs aided by five walks. The bulk of the damage came courtesy of a two-RBI double by Kevin Krupp and a bases-clearing double by Nick Vinson.
Two runs in the sixth and seventh innings pushed the scoreboard to 13-2 in favor of the Nighthawks.
Truett finished the scoring with a single run in the top of the ninth on an RBI single by P.D. Foster.
Spivey and Vinson each contributed with 3-5 nights as the Nighthawks outhit TMC 15-8.
Bryan earned his second win of the year following three and two thirds innings of scoreless relief work allowing just three hits while striking out three.
Pearson led Truett-McConnell with three hits in five plate appearances.
North Georgia returns to action on Friday, April 11 when Young Harris comes to Dahlonega to kick off a three-game weekend series. First pitch of Friday evening's game is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
