CLEMSON, S.C. -- According to the Clemson football scrimmage report, former Gainesville High standout and Clemson early enrollee freshman quarterback Deshaun Watson suffered a "slight crack in his collarbone" and will not be able to play in Saturday's Spring game.

Officials said he will miss 3 to 4 weeks because of the injury but will not require surgery. He is expected to be healthy and at full strength when summer drills begin.

The injury occurred during a regular scrimmage but no details were given as to exactly how the injury happened.

Watson, the nation's top dual-threat quarterback prospect from last fall, was competing with Cole Stoudt and Chad Kelly for the No. 1 spot on the depth chart.

Watson helped lead Gainesville to its first-ever state title in 2013.
