Gwinnett Co: Poll officials needed for May elections

Posted 8:43AM on Saturday 5th April 2014 ( 10 years ago )
LAWRENCEVILLE - With over 150 polling locations in Gwinnett County, election officials are looking to hire poll officials for the 2014 elections.

"We have a busy elections season ahead of us and with more than 150 polling locations in Gwinnett, it will take several thousand poll officials to staff an election," Gwinnett Elections Supervisor Lynn Ledford said.

Ideal candidates are U.S. citizens that are 16 years old or older and reside in Gwinnett County, who are able to read, write and speak English fluently and who demonstrate patience, enjoy working with people, take direction well and are detail-oriented.

Those selected will need to have transportation to and from the polling locations and have access to a computer to complete online training. They will report at 6:00 a.m. on election day and work all day, for roughly 14 hours. Poll officials cannot vote at the poll and will need to submit an absentee ballot by mail or advance in person.
