CUMMING - A Johns Creek woman died Thursday after her vehicle was hit by a driver who ran a red light at an intersection in south Forsyth County.

Authorities said the crash happened just after 11 a.m. when Eric V. Hasslock, 39, of Cumming failed to stop at a red light at McGinnis Ferry Road and Johns Creek Parkway. His vehicle, which he was driving westbound on McGinnis Ferry Road, hit a car being driven by Nancy Yeakel, 74, as she traveled southbound on Johns Creek Parkway.

Both Yeakel and Hasslock were taken by ambulance to North Fulton Hospital. Yeakel died Thursday night, several hours after the collision. Hasslock remained hospitalized at last report.

The investigation into the deadly crash continues.
