DAHLONEGA - The Center for the Future of North Georgia and the Mike Cottrell College of Business at the University of North Georgia (UNG) will honor the memory of Mike Banks Tuesday at the Inspirational Leaders Award Luncheon.

The event will be held at the Forsyth Conference Center in Cumming and two awards will be given in his memory.

Nick Kastner, Marketing Manager for the College of Business, said "this year is the first time we have given these two awards: the Inspiration in Business and Inspiration in Community awards and are giving those in honor of Mike Banks. This event and the giving of these awards was his idea and it's a tremendous honor for us to be able to give these awards in his memory."

Banks, a Gainesville resident who died in January, was the Development Officer at the Mike Cottrell College of Business.

Kastner said Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Kit Dunlap will receive the Inspiration in Business award and Dr. Buster Evans, superintendent of Forsyth County Schools, will receive the Inspiration in Community award. He said recipients were selected from nominations that we received online via the Center for the Future of North Georgia Facebook page.

Kat Cole, president of Cinnabon, Inc., will serve as the keynote speaker for the event.

Tickets are $35 and may be purchased atwww.ung.edu/cfng. Table, student, and other sponsorships are also available.

The event is part of the Mike Cottrell College of Business' Cottrell Speaker Series, which brings business professionals from around the state, nation and globe to share their experience and expertise with UNG students, faculty and staff, and community members. The series will also host Brent Herd, southeastern sales director of Twitter, on UNG's Dahlonega Campus March 26.
