GAINESVILLE - Hall County School Superintendent Will Schofield Tuesday announced that he plans to recommend a new principal for North Hall High School on Thursday.

According to the school system, Schofield's recommendation is Jamey Moore, the current Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Gainesville City Schools.

"I describe Jamey Moore as a man of admirable character that is blessed with a relentless commitment to students, their families and teachers. He is constantly questioning the status quo, continually desiring to improve all that we do in our schools. There is almost no limit to what the students and staff at North Hall can accomplish in the coming months and years," Schofield said in an e-mail statement.

If approved by the Hall County School Board at its Thursday meeting, Moore will replace the retiring Joe Gheesling for the 2014-15 school year.

"The excellence that Principal Joe Gheesling and the North Hall High School teachers, students, and parents have built over the years has made my decision so much easier. My family is very excited to be part of the caring community that North Hall has to offer. We look forward to meeting the Trojan community and sharing our lives with them," Moore said.

Moore has served for four years in his current position with the Gainesville School System. He also served as the system's 6-12 Instructional Coach in English/Language Arts and K-12 Writing Coordinator. Moore spent nine years as a teacher and coach at Gainesville High School prior his move into administration, according to Hall County schools.
