JEFFERSON - Some mischief in Jackson County, captured in a photograph and posted to a social media website, landed three people in trouble with the law late last week.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, the photo depicted three people standing and sitting on a Jackson County Sheriff's Office patrol vehicle.

"One of our deputies was in a restaurant eating, and the vehicle was parked out of his sight, he couldn't see it," Sheriff Janis Mangum said.

Not pleased with the photo, Sheriff Janis Mangum said investigators identified the people and arrested two of the them.

"Somebody reported that it was on Facebook, and that's what started the investigation," Mangum said.

Kevin James Fortson, 22, of Nicholson, and Angela Marie Caldwell, 21, of Jefferson, are each charged with criminal trespass.

"They thought it was a fun thing to do while they were drinking alcohol I guess. I don't think it was very fun when they got arrested," Mangum said.

The third person in the photo, Timothy Alan Smith, 30, of Jefferson, has yet to be arrested, according to Mangum. Smith will face the same charge.

"If there had been damage it would have been a more serious charge, but it's still criminal activity on a car. We don't get very many new cars, so we want to take care of the cars we have," Mangum said.
