Baseball: East Hall edges out Banks County in extra frames

HOMER -- The East Hall Vikings need extra frames to finish Banks County on Monday but picked up the win, 4-3 in Homer.

With the score tied at three, Caleb Holtzclaw connected on an RBI ground ball, scoring Hunter Buffington for the deciding run.

Caleb Holtzclaw racked up three RBI on one hit for the East Hall Vikings with a home run.

In the bottom of the third, Banks County grabbed the early lead, 1-0.

The East Hall Vikings scored one run in the eighth inning, and then followed it up with one more in the tenth. In the eighth, the East Hall Vikings scored on a passed ball, plating Garrett Bishop.

Eli Stuart came in to pitch with a tie score and bases loaded one out situation. Stuart proceeded to strike out back-to-back Leopards to keep the score tied, and Stuart earned the win by pitching 2 2/3 innings and striking out 6.

The Vikings travel to face Dawson County on Wednesday.
