Barrow County gov't. to move into historic courthouse

WINDER - Barrow County government offices currently located in the Barrow County Administration Annex, 233 E. Broad St., will be moving into the newly renovated Historic Courthouse, located at 30 N. Broad St. in downtown Winder on Friday, April 4.

County officials announce that the following offices will be closed beginning Friday, April 4 at 3:00 p.m. and will reopen on Monday, April 7 at noon:

~Board of Commissioners & Commission Meeting Room
~County Clerk
~County Manager
~Human Resources
~Economic & Community Development (Planning, Building Inspection, Licensing, and Keep Barrow Beautiful)
~Finance Dept.
~Information Technology
~Purchasing
~GIS
~Tax Commissioner Offices (car tags) (access from Porter St.)
~Tax Assessor Offices (access from Porter St.)
~Engineering
~Storm Water Dept.

The Health Department will be closed and will be moving from the County Administration Annex to the Historic Courthouse complex on Thursday, April 17 and Friday, April 18. (access from Porter St.). For more information regarding the Health Department closing, contact Susan Kristal, Health Dept. Nurse Manager, at 770-307-3011.

The Elections & Registration Office and the Sheriff's Office will remain at the County Administration Annex, 233 E. Broad St.

All public meetings scheduled after April 7 will be held at the Historic Courthouse including County Commission meetings, Planning & Zoning Commission meetings, Board of Appeals, Board of Tax Assessors, and Keep Barrow Beautiful.
