Lt. Scott Ware of the Hall County Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad says Warren Craig West, 37, Commerce, had been a fugitive since March 7 when agents tried to arrest him on Athens Highway.
Ware says officers tried to arrest West "after he arrived at a pre-determined to sale a quantity of methamphetamine. At the time of the investigation, Mr. West had an outstanding probation warrant for his arrest issued from Hall County Superior Court. Mr. West fled the scene in his vehicle almost striking an Officer before escaping."
Ware said West was arrested last Wednesday in Gwinnett County and "was found in possession of "a quantity of methamphetamine and two firearms, (one of which had the serial number altered)."
West was charged with:
Superior Court Probation Warrant
Criminal Attempt to Commit a Felony (Sale of Methamphetamine)
Use of a Communications Device to Facilitate a Drug Transaction
Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer
Fleeing and Eluding (Felony)
Striking a Fixed Object
Reckless Driving
Failure to Maintain Lane
