Gibbs named finalist for Dawson school chief's job

DAWSONVILLE - The Executive Director of Facilities & Construction for the Hall County School District likely will be the new Dawson County Schools Superintendent.

Damon Gibbs confirmed Saturday morning that he has been named sole finalist for the position.

Gibbs, who has worked for the Hall County School System since 1996, has held administrative position with Spout Spring Elementary School and Johnson and Flowery Branch high schools.

Gibbs also is District 1 Councilman for the city of Flowery Branch.

Law requires the position to be publicly posted for 14 days before the Dawson County School System can finalize Gibbs' contract.
