Joseph Thomas Greene Jr., 33, was initially arrested on March 4th for his involvement in embezzling over $75,000 from the race track.
That investigation revealed that Greene had stolen funds from his then employer for his own personal use over a one-year period. At that time Greene was charged with 47 counts of transaction card fraud and one count of theft by deception.
He bonded out of jail on a $30,000 bond the same day.
On March 25th, Hall County Sheriff's Office investigators obtained additional warrants charging him with an additional 117 counts of transaction card fraud and one additional count of theft by deception.
The estimated additional loss to Road Atlanta is in excess of $46,000.
Greene remained out of jail under the original bond posted on March 4th. Greene's attorney, David Fox, issued an e-mail statement Thursday.
"Please be aware that Joseph Thomas Greene, Jr. denies the allegations of embezzlement, theft, and fraud. As a Vice President of Road Atlanta, Mr. Greene has loyally served that entity for several years in a position of trust. The original allegations as well as the additional charges came as a complete surprise to Mr. Greene, and are completely unfounded. Please reserve judgment in this matter and remember that Mr. Greene is presumed innocent. He has been, and is, a law abiding citizen."
