Soccer: Lady Knights run win streak to 5

WINDER -- The Johnson girls soccer team ran its win streak to five after taking a 5-2 win over Winder-Barrow Tuesday in Region 8-AAAA action.

Hannah Hester scored two goals and added one assist and Sandra Macedo scored one goal and added two assists to pace the Lady Knights offense. Johnson (5-5-1, 3-1 Region 8-AAAA) scored four first half goals to lead 4-0 at halftime.

Kelsey Dumanowsky scored first on an assist by Hester 12 minutes into the game. Macedo added her goal on a free kick six minutes later, Hester, on an assist from Macedo, made it 3-0, and the Hannah Mullinax made it 4-0 on Macedo's second assist with five minutes left in the half.

Winder-Barrow scored twice in 10 minutes in the second half to cut the lead to 4-2. Hester completed the scoring late in the game on an assist by Evelin Aviata.

Johnson will play host to Chestatee on Friday in another Region 8-AAAA battle.
