FBI seeks public's help in locating suspect in 2000 Gilmer Co. vehicular homicide

ATLANTA - Crime Stoppers Atlanta is offering a reward for new information in a Gilmer County vehicular homicide case. The FBI is supporting the reward and asking for the public's help in locating the federal fugitive that fled over 10 years ago.

According to FBI agent Stephen Emmett, Gonzalez Gonzalo Harrell rear-ended the car of Billy Inman, killing Inman's 16-year-old son and the family dog, and seriously injuring his wife.

After the accident, the Inmans and Harrell were taken to a hospital. During medical treatment, Harrell fled.

"Mr. Gonzalez Harrell was charged with that accident, but fled," said Emmett. "Now we have a federal UFAP - unlawful flight to avoid prosecution warrant for his arrest."

Harrell was indicted in January of 2001 in Gilmer County for homicide by vehicle in the first degree, serious injury by vehicle and reckless driving. The federal UFAP warrant was obtained in June 2002.

Harrell, a Mexican national, is described as 46 years old, 5'8'', 150 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.
