COLLEGE PARK, Ga. (AP) -- Fulton County Schools officials say an argument inside a high school escalated to gunfire in the building's parking lot.

District spokesman Susan Hale tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution ( http://bit.ly/1dt35Tf ) shots were fired into the air outside Banneker High School in College Park Tuesday afternoon and no injuries were reported.

The sound of gunfire prompted lockdowns at the high school and at a nearby elementary school. Authorities say they're unsure of whether any students were involved.

Fulton County Police spokesman Scott McBride tells WXIA-TV that authorities from his department and Union City police were called in to help investigate. It's unclear if any arrests have been made.
