Soccer: Hester hat trick leads Lady Knights to win

Freshman Hannah Hester recorded a hat trick to lead the Johnson girls to a 6-0 win over Stephens County Monday in Region 8-AAAA soccer action.

The Lady Knights (4-5-1, 3-1 Region 8-AAAA) scored three goals in an eight-minute span in the first half to take control of the game. Kelsey Dumanowsky, on an assist by Sofy Munoz, tallied the first goal 10 minutes into the game. Hester then scored twice in five minutes on assists from Lydia Moon and Chandler Steele as Johnson took a 3-0 lead into halftime.

In the second half, Steele scored eight minutes in off an indirect kick and then
Hester, on another assist from Steele, completed the hat trick with 17:06 left in the game. Stephanie Barron finished th scoring six minutes later.

Hannah Hodge recorded the shutout in goal.

Johnson next will travel to Winder-Barrow on Tuesday.
