Golf: Elephants rally to win 3rd straight Georgia-S.C. Cup

GREER, S.C. -- The Gainesville boys golf team overcame a 14-stroke deficit after one round to win it's third-straight Georgia-South Carolina Cup Saturday at Willow Creek Country Club.

The annual tournament is regarded as one of the best high school fields in the Southeast.

Gainesville shot 314 and 300 for a two-day total of 614 to clip Christ Church Episcopal School (S.C.) by two strokes.

The Red Elephants' Spencer Ralston was named to the All-Tournament team after posting a 76-72, for a two day total of 148 (+4). Lawson King (74-78), Nathan Williams (80-77), Jackson Bishop (84-73) and Grant Lasseter (84-79) rounded out the Red Elephant scores.

The Red Elephants next will play in the Big Red Shootout at Chattahoochee Golf Course on Monday.
