SOCIAL CIRCLE -- Jefferson ran its Region 8-AA record to a perfect 6-0 after a pair of lopsided wins over Social Circle Friday.

The Dragons won Game 1 17-1 behind an 18-hit attack and the pitching of Micah Carpenter in six innings. Carpenter allowed just three hits and struck out nine.

Jefferson led 8-1 after five innings but put the Mercy Rule into affect with a nine-run sixth.

In Game 2, Ethan Garner got the win going just three innings in a 16-0 victory in four innings.

Trent Sorrells and Alex Gaba did the bulk of the damage at the plate. Sorrells smacked a three-run home run in a four-run first inning. Gaba belted a grand slam to highlight a seven-run second inning.

Jefferson (12-3, 6-0 Region 8-AA) next will play host to Rabun County on Tuesday.
