"Nearly 9,000 Georgians will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. This disease is devastating, not only for these women, but for their families and our communities. It is our goal to help attendees explore the common myths and misconceptions surrounding breast cancer and discover ways in which they can
make healthy lifestyle choices toward the primary prevention of the disease," said Amy Upchurch, GBCCF's Executive Director.
GBCCF is partnering with the District 2 Public Health Office to educate local women in Hall County about the basic science of breast cancer. Led by trained breast cancer advocates and breast health practitioners, the workshop will be held at The District 2 Public Health Office, 1280 Athens Street, Gainesville, from 1:00-3:00 on Sunday, April 27. It will be is free, however,
registration is required to ensure adequate materials and refreshments for all attendees.
This workshop is one of ten GBCCF workshops funded by a grant awarded by the Georgia Center for Oncology Research & Education (CORE) and the Georgia State Office of Rural Health. To register, visit:
