WATKINSVILLE - The Oconee County Sheriff's Office Facebook page reports that a 16-year-old was arrested last night and now faces charges of DUI, unlicensed to drive, underage possession of alcohol, criminal damage to property in the 2nd degree, and striking a fixed object.

Sheriff Scott Berry announced on the webpage that the juvenile drove through the Farmington Cemetery, damaging several grave markers and grave sites.

In an update made Friday afternoon to the Facebook page, the Sheriff said the families whose grave markers were damaged have been identified, and investigators are attempting to contact them.

The juvenile responsible has been caught and charged as a juvenile. State law prohibits disclosing his identity.
