Piedmont College plans Alumni Weekend April 4-6

DEMOREST - Piedmont College alumni and friends are invited to three days of reunions, food, and fun in Demorest April 4-6.<br /> <br /> The three-day celebration will include a variety of alumni and athletic events, socials, awards dinners, tours, a 5K race, and a special exhibit by Piedmont alumni artists. Pre-registration is required for some events. For a complete schedule of events or to RSVP, visit www.piedmont.edu/alumni, or contact Katie Porter at 706-778-3000 ext. 1329, or email [email protected].<br /> <br /> Alumni Weekend will begin on Friday, April 4, with opportunities to cheer on the Lions and Lady Lions as the softball (1 p.m.), men's tennis (2 p.m.) and baseball (7 p.m.) teams will all be in action. There will be campus tours at 3 p.m. and dinner in Nielsen Hall at 5 p.m. Alumni from the 1950s and 1960s will meet in Brookside Dining Hall for a reunion dinner at 5 p.m. All alumni are invited to an Alumni After Hours social at the Alumni House.<br /> <br /> A Run with the Lions 5K gets the Saturday events off to a running start at 9 a.m., beginning at the Johnny Mize Athletic Center. More athletic events include men's and women's tennis (9:30 a.m.), softball (1 p.m.), and baseball (3 p.m.). Alumni can sign up for a wine tasting tour and lunch at Sautee Nacoochee Vineyard, leaving from the Getman-Babcock parking area at 11:30 a.m. The Piedmont Letter Club ("P-Club") will meet for lunch and the annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony at noon in Brookside. The Alumni Association will hold its annual meeting at 2 p.m. in Stewart Hall Auditorium, and all alumni are invited to attend.<br /> <br /> At 6 p.m., Saturday, the annual Alumni Awards Gala will meet in Brookside to honor the winners of this year's Distinguished Alumni, Alumni Service, Excellence in Education, and Pacesetter awards.<br /> <br /> Alumni weekend ends on Sunday, April 6, with a women's alumni soccer game (1:30 p.m.), varsity baseball (2 p.m.), and men's alumni soccer game (3 p.m.). From 2-4 p.m., an alumni Art Exhibition and reception will be held in the Smith-Williams
