CUMMING - A youth minister at a Forsyth County church has been fired after he was charged with child molestation late last week.

Sean Paul of Dawsonville was employed at First Christian Church on Sawnee Drive when the alleged incident occurred. Paul met his 15-year-old victim at the church, according to Forsyth County Sheriff's Deputy Doug Rainwater.

Rainwater said the complaint was lodged with the sheriff's office earlier in the month.

"Back at the first of March...we received a complaint from the parents of...a juvenile," said Rainwater. "The complaint led us to this youth pastor."

Rainwater said Paul, who is 28, was terminated from his job the day after the church was notified of the charges.

Paul turned himself in to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office on Friday, March 14. He has since been released on $39,000 bond, according to Rainwater.

Three charges have been levied against Paul: one count of child molestation and one count of enticing a child for indecent purposes, both felonies, and a misdemeanor charge of electronically furnishing obscene material to a minor.

Rainwater said investigators are checking the possibility that there may be other victims.
