Gainesville sinkhole repaired

GAINESVILLE - City officials reported Thursday morning that a sinkhole that developed Wednesday in Gainesville has been "fixed."

City spokeswoman Catiel Felts said Wednesday a collapsed sewer line caused the sinkhole at the corner of Washington and Bradford streets.

Early Thursday, she reported only some "cleanup and patching" remained before the job would be finished.

Work began on the sinkhole about noon Wednesday.
