BRASELTON - Another big corporate "get" for Braselton.

The second Asian manufacturer in just one week has announced plans to move their U.S headquarters to Braselton from Norcross.

Hitachi Koki USA, Ltd. (D.B.A. as Hitachi Power Tools) joins Mizuno, USA, in relocating to Barrow County.

According to the Hitachi website the move will happen this fall.

The website adds that the 540,000-square foot facility will allow the company to consolidate warehouses on the east coast. "This new location is ideal to maximize warehousing efficiency and provide the over 100 current Hitachi employees with a professional work environment in an exciting area of Georgia that is experiencing its own growth and development," Hitachi executives said in the release.

Tokyo-based Hitachi has been a presence in Norcross since the mid-1980's.

One week ago today Japanese sporting goods manufacturer Mizuno announced their plans to move into a 520,000-square foot facility in Braselton in 2015.
