Soccer: Lumpkin County girls hand Chestatee first region loss

GAINESVILLE -- The Lumpkin County girls soccer team scored off a corner kick with 4:05 remaining to beat Chestatee 1-0 at on Tuesday in Gainesville.

The setback was the Lady War Eagles' first region loss, as Chestatee dropped to 7-3, 4-1 Region 8-AAAA.

The Lady Indians (6-2, 3-1) held firm in defense despite three breakaway attempts from Megan Dew in the second half.

Chestatee will play host to Lanier on Friday.
