Man shot and killed by Forsyth Co. officers

CUMMING - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating a shooting death in Cumming, after a 52-year-old man was killed by deputies early Monday morning.

Forsyth County Sheriff Duane K. Piper, in a press statement, said deputies responded to a call at a home at 7975 Nicholson Road just after midnight. He said a man at the residence threatened deputies with a firearm and was shot. He died at the scene. No deputies were injured.

Per Forsyth County Sheriff's Office policy, the three officers involved in the incident have been placed on administrative leave with pay as the investigation continues.
