HOMER - Bags of animal remains reported near Homer Thursday turned out to be wild animal carcasses.

Sgt. Carissa McFaddin of Banks County Sheriff's Office explained.

"On Thursday, deputies investigated a report of dead animals on Bennett Road," McFaddin said.

"Upon arrival of the area, deputies discovered the animals to be coyotes," McFaddin said. "The road department was requested to the scene to remove the animals."

Authorities are not sure who dumped the bags containing the animals.
