Gillsville woman faces ID theft charges

GAINESVILLE - The Hall County Sheriff's Office obtained arrest warrants on Tuesday for 41-year-old Kathy Ann Cantrell of Gillsville on charges of identity theft and fraud.

Cantrell was already in custody on prior charges of insurance fraud.

She is now facing additional charges of credit card fraud (67 counts) and one count of identity theft.

Investigators say Cantrell fraudulently used the identity of her victim to obtain a credit card in their name.

Cantrell allegedly used the credit card 67 times over a period of two months for approximately $13,000 in currency, goods, and services.

Cantrell remains in the Hall County Jail with a bond set at $340,000.
