GHS receives literary title

GAINESVILLE - Gainesville High School received the 8-AAAAA Literary Championship on Saturday, March 8 at Apalachee High School.

Andrew Kelley and Gabriella Diaz received 1st place recognition in Essay and will be advancing to State AAAAA on March l5th. Pam Michelson, Wyoma Newman, Lara Mallard and all of the English Department worked with them.

Emilie Gille and Braz Jackson were the entrants in Extemporaneous Speaking. Jackson won 1st place and will be advancing to State AAAAA on March l5th; Gille placed 3rd. Kathy Kelley worked with them.

Julia Hamilton prepared the students that entered in all music events. Cameron Drake placed 2nd in Boys Solo; Carrie Franklin represented GHS in Girls Solo; Girls Trio was Londra Irias, Liliana Esqueda and Dulce Elvira Mata-Garcia. Boys Quartet was David Israel Camargo, Cameron Drake, Victor Rosa and Cristian Mejia.

Pam Ware prepared the students that entered in dramatic interpretation. Lauren Carter placed 1st and will advance to State AAAAA Literary on March l5th. Triston Wimpye placed 4th in dramatic interpretation.
