Banks County
In Banks County, there is only one contested race - for the County Commission District 1 seat held by Danny Maxwell. Maxwell is being challenged by Gary Clark.
Sammy G. Reece, incumbent, was the only person to qualify for County Commission District 3.
Incumbents Michael Boyle and Shane Roberts were the only ones to qualify for the Board of Education Post 3 and Post 5 seats, respectively.
Habersham County
In Habersham County, incumbent District 3 County Commissioner Chad Henderson, in his second year as commission chairman, did not qualify to seek re-election.
District 2 Commissioner Andrea Harper faces a challenge from Joseph Clark of Cornelia.
Victor Edward Anderson of Cornelia qualified to seek the District 3 seat currently held by Henderson.
Incumbent District 3 Board of Education member Gilbert Barrett, who currently serves as vice chairman, did not qualify to seek re-election.
Russell H. Nelson III of Cornelia qualified to seek the District 3 seat held by Barrett.
District 4 Board of Education member Rick Williams of Clarkesville faces a challenge from Kevin Gaddis of Demorest.
District 5 Board of Education member Patsy Taylor of Clarkesville faces a challenge from Sherry Donnelly of Sautee.
White County
It's no contest in White County.
Incumbents Edwin Nix and Lyn Holcomb qualified for re-election on Monday.
Holcomb qualified as a Republican candidate for District 2 and Nix qualified as a Republican for District 4 on the White County Commission.
For the White County Board of Education, incumbent Barry Vandiver qualified for District 4 and Roger Fitzpatrick qualified for District 2.
Board of Education District 2 incumbent Amy Crumley did not qualify to seek re-election.
